N.J. woman sues JetBlue after fracturing tooth on frozen ice cream sandwich

A New Jersey woman has filed a lawsuit against JetBlue claiming she fractured a tooth while biting into an ice cream sandwich on a flight this summer.
Kiara Quinonez was severely injured when eating a “chomp size” strawberry shortcake ice cream sandwich aboard a flight from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City to Paris on Aug. 20, according to the lawsuit.
Quinonez received immediate treatment upon arrival at Charles de Gaulle Airport, according to the suit. At some point the tooth had to be extracted, the lawsuit says.
She said the flight crew didn’t warn her of the “dangerously cold temperature” and “solid state” of the ice cream sandwich.
No hometown in New Jersey was listed for Quinonez in the suit, which was filed last week in federal court in the Eastern District of New York.
She was traveling to France with her fiancé.
JetBlue didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
